My Computer opens up at startup

Hi,

the "My computer" folder opens up everytime i log into windows XP, why is this? and how can it be remedied? is it a registry problem?

Try this. In "MY Computer", click on Tools then Folder Options then View tab.
Scroll down and make sure Restore previous folder windows at logon is not checked. If it is , uncheck it.

See if there is a link to My Computer in your Startup folder.

Look in C:\Documents and Settings\<youruserid>\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

If not, look in the Startup tab of msconfig and see if anything there could be opening it.

Click on Start then Run, type msconfig and press Enter.
Click on the Startup tab
