Thanks for the logs.

Let's do this next:

I have attached a file called fix.zip.
Please save this file to desktop and unzip it.
You should end up with a folder called "fix" and inside a file called "fix.bat"
Do nothing with it yet.

Go to add/remove programs and uninstall ad-aware/ad-watch. (if you have not done so already)
Reboot if prompted.

Next:

Start Hijackthis
Run system scan and check if present the following entries:

Close all open browser and explorer windows then hit "fix checked"
OK the prompt and exit Hijackthis.

Reboot to SAFE mode and log into your usual account.

Locate the fix.bat you saved earlier and double click it.
A "dos" box will flash up quick & then dissapear. This is normal.

REboot back to normal mode and do the following please:

You don't have any antivirus program installed.
Let's get one.

Download either of the following antivirus programs and install it:

Avast:
http://www.avast.com...ast_4_home.html
Tutorial:
http://www.bleepingc...utorial104.html

AntiVir:
http://www.free-av.c.../allinonen.html

Once installed -- reboot if asked.
Make sure to update it then run a full system scan and allow it to quarentine/fix what it wants.
Reboot if needed to finish repairs.

Then........

Click start> run> type:

"%userprofile%\desktop\dss.exe" /config

Click "Check all"
Click "scan"
When scan is done please post both the new "main.txt" and "extra.txt"

seems to be okay for now...

got rid of everything you said and my AVAST is running. no more earthlinks.

I don't use Groove and don't care about Real (player) unless online. Do I need Win Defender?, VTTimer is clocking, don't need, don't know what Grxp4exe is, SOUNDMAN.EXE is just unnecessary added from motherboard, don't know what LTMSG.exe, KBD.EXE, spoolsv.exe (printer?), netdde.exe, mDNSResponder.exe, clipsrv.exe, crypserv.exe, C:\WINDOWS\system32\msiexec.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\sessmgr.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\UAService7.exe
or wuauclt.exe are?!
