Hey Guys,

Got a big problem trying to run a program for keeping track of flying hours.

As far as i know it is a MS Acces based system.

I keep getting the following error and have absolutely no idea what it means or how to go about fixing it:
--
unexpected error: error in the dll. looking for object with clsid: {00000010-0000-0010-8000-00AA006D2EA4}
--

I had no problem running this program on my old system (ME) but now that i transferred to na new laptop with XP Pro i can't use it. The program is invaluable to me but i am in despair trying to search on the internet for a fix/cure.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thank You,

Stallion,

Thank you for the fast reply.

The program is called Airfile, it is available for download free at www.declanward.com

The problem happens consistently when I try to launch the application, as the program tries to open up it happens, as a result i have not been able to use it whatsoever on my notebook.

Thansk for that link, I had a quick look at it and wow, there is a lot of information there. I have absolutley no idea what I am looking at, complete isiot when it comes to this type of thing i'm afraid :tazz:

awright Aviation enthusiast :-),
I went to the site and found something interesting about the Airfile program.
Do they have a FAQ page or something like that to answer questions on bugs of their program?
I was not able to find it.It asked me to register which i don't want to do!
I am still working on this error message u have posted here. Will get back to u with possible solutions!
Meanwhile, try uninstalling and reinstalling the product.
Give it a try or you can wait for a while!

No unfortunately no FAQ that helps at all.

I actually bought this product off the guy for somehting like €40 last year before he decided to make it freeware. He is a friend of a friend. I have his e-mail address and have tried contacting him with regard to this but to no avail, he tells me he has never heard of the problem, his runs on XP Pro and is unable to help me, not very firendly i must say, but maybe he just doesn't know!!

I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling so so many times it's not funny anymore, i know that doesn't work!!

Again Stallion I really appreciate your help, i have been lost witout this program for a long time now.

Thanks for that stallion,

however the problem persists, i get an error message saying:

--
The parameter is incorrect
--

I assume i have installed it correctly, copied and pasted it into the windows/system file you mentioned.

I think this should help you answer your question, iFlyJets.

stallion, you almost had it,
its actually a problem with dao350, and not dao360. :tazz:

I had this very same problem when i ported my program to another computer.
Tried to recreate the error on this pc and it was exactly the problem.
good luck!

in my experience,
this can best be solved by contacting the coder and making him/her use the package/deployment wizard in VS6, and using it to create a cab file full of all the dependancies of the program you're using. i was surprised when there were about 20 or more dependancies for a fairly simple program.
i could give you my setup, install it, and perhaps it would install all the dlls and other dependancies correctly.

let me know if you need it.

you can get it here

***

its a simple name drawing program for the karate association i'm in.
install the program and uninstall it afterwards, just choose to leave system files intact during the uninstall and it should be good.

all the best.
