hi, i had some files which i decided to share on the network, and someone (not fully understanding the concept of file sharing) thought that the files on the remote computer were copies and deleted them. iv'e tried a bunch of undelete and recovery apps but to no avail... i'm guessing it's because they were deleted remotely.. help! what to do? (they were microsoft publisher and word 2007 files -autorecovery folder was empty)

Undelete and recovery tools must be run on the PC where the shared folder was. If you didn't do this, try that.
Also, check that person's recycle bin, he/she might have ended up removing them to the bin instead.

were copies and deleted them

Does this mean the person that deleted the files has copies of the files?

Some other staff might have more options, this is all I can give for now.
Hope it helps.

Regards,
Olrik
