Hi,

Can someone please give me an answer to a monitor question ?

I just bought a new Samsung 19" LCD flat screen monitor.

It came with two connecting cables... 1 DVI and 1 VGA

My new computer has outputs for the same. 1 DVI and 1 VGA

The hook-up instructions show both cables in use. Is this correct ???

I figured that you would use either one or the other. Not both at the same time.

Please advise.

Thank You

just hook up the DVI....
There is some quality loss in the VGA signal because of the conversion... originally... graphic card produces digital signal (DVI) ..which then has to be converted to analog, and then back to digital back again.
