first, my internal wireless modem in my laptop went out. then, i bought a USB wireless, and it worked for a couple months. then, one day, it also just stopped working. no light, no nothing. windows would make the normal 'ding' that it makes when any USB device is plugged in, but it made the 'ding' sound 3 times in quick successions. also, i tried to by an external pcmcia modem, and it did not function either. its as if some malware permanently disabled all attempts at wireless. the funny thing is, my internal wireless has intermittently begun to work, and then the next time i hibernate or shut down, its gone again. this intermittent operation has only happened maybe two or three times since the wireless stopped working (and out of millions of restarts).

also, when i go into windows media player, i go to tools then to library, and i check 'share my media with:', but as soon as i go to that "configure sharing" window, media player has an error and has to shut down, and it freezes up on the computer. could these problems be related?

also, for some reason, none of the updates from the microsoft website will install. the website checks for what i need, the download occurs (and takes 10 minutes), and then it has an error for which it gives no explanation or resolution, which states that none of the updates installed sucessfully. what gives?
also, i just tonight got a message about dr watsons postmortem debugger. is this a virus, or an ill named windows helper?
