DeviceIO error on shutting down

Hi.

Every time I shut down my system I get a message saying that DeviceIO is terminating and that if I do an 'end now' I will lose data.

Although it is not life threatening I would like to clear it up if you can offer and advice on what I need to do to sort it out.
