My pavillion 6000 is one week old i shut it down one day and then the next time i started it up it kept starting up and shutting down i tried to restore but couldn't i couldn't use the f11 function it wouldn't let me it kept giving me a message that said no operating system found. i called tech support when it was still running but after that call and after following the instructions from that person the screen went black and now i can't reboot. I can turn it off and on but the screen won't come up it stays black so i can't see how to resolve the issue. Can anyone help? Luke :)

so it went black after you talked to tech support? have you called them back?

in my experience hp will take care of it if you are under the 1 year manufacturers warranty.

(p.s. i have the same laptop)

it went black after the tech i talked to guided me through some steps to try to resolve it now they are sending me a recovery disc but i wonder if it will resolve the issue i will have to wait and see and yes it is only 2weeks old! So either way it should be under warranty. I was just wondering if anyone else had been through this type of issue with a brand new hp dv6000
