so it went black after you talked to tech support? have you called them back?
in my experience hp will take care of it if you are under the 1 year manufacturers warranty.
(p.s. i have the same laptop)

it went black after the tech i talked to guided me through some steps to try to resolve it now they are sending me a recovery disc but i wonder if it will resolve the issue i will have to wait and see and yes it is only 2weeks old! So either way it should be under warranty. I was just wondering if anyone else had been through this type of issue with a brand new hp dv6000
