Hello

Switched on the laptop (HP Pavilion) a couple of days a go and the screen was a bit 'funny' with white lines flickering down the screen and the screen fading between light and dark. I've just moved to the DR Congo so didn't think too much of it other than it was being tempermental.

Then turned it on yesterday and as it was loading the screen went lighter as it was loading, then had stripes, then eventually had a black background with a tartan type pattern in illuminous colours. Pressing ctrl, alt, delate eventually drew up my desktop but I couldn't move the cursor and it quickly faded into the pattern above so I can't access anything. Before this started I had backed up my data to an external hard drive due to my trip.

Anybody have a clue what's going on and if there is anything I can do about it? I'd rather not have to reinstall the operating system as i have some documents on the laptop that i need here. Let me know if anyone has any ideas!

Thanks
Katie

This may be one of the three:

1. A virus

2. Bad configuration of your screen

3. A messed up screen

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I highly doubt that its 2 or 3.
#1 has a big possibility.
Do you have any other problems with your computer software related?
Please get back to me,
