tmcomm.sys file information

The process TrendMicro Common Module belongs to the software ActiveClean or Trend Micro Internet Security by Trend Micro Inc (www.trendmicro.com).

Description: tmcomm.sys is located in the folder C:\Windows\System32\drivers. Known file sizes on Windows XP are 76560 bytes (85% of all occurrence), 102800 bytes, 102664 bytes, 138512 bytes.
The driver can be started or stopped from Services in the Control Panel or by other programs. The program is not visible. It is a Verisign signed file. The file has a digital Signature. tmcomm.sys is not a Windows system file. There is no detailed description of this service. Therefore the technical security rating is 19% dangerous.

Important: Some malware camouflage themselves as tmcomm.sys, particularly if they are located in c:\windows or c:\windows\system32 folder. Thus check the tmcomm.sys process on your pc whether it is pest.

File.net recommends "Security Task Manager" for verifying your computer's security. It is one of the Top Download Picks of 2005 of The Washington Post and PC World.

If this is a winfax pro problem you may want to read this article from Symantec.

So far this is all i can find on the subject.
