hi im new here and would appreciate any answers, the problem is when i scroll down any pages i get coloured lines and dots across the screen and the pages are unreadable please help

Looks like you have either dead or stuck pixels. Stuck Pixels are fixable, however Dead Pixels are not. What color are the lines and dots on your screen?

they are mostly purple its not the monitor as ive tried a brand new monitor and its the same on that one, its got to be the computer itself, they appear more when i scroll down the pages further

Maybe your Video Card is messed up.

Try replacing it or updating the driver.

hi thanks for that but how do i update the driver? im new to this computer stuff, is a graphics card the same as a video card? as someone mentioned graphics card to me and i need to know exactly what is needed many thanks

Yeah Graphics Card is the same.

To update your driver, click on Start>Right Click my Computer>Manage>Device Manager

Here, I need you to find your Video or Graphics Card. When you find it, please double click it and click on the Driver tab.

Next, take down some notes on your driver so that I can see if there is an available update.
