OK, try reinstalling Norton and see how that goes.

Go to the Windows forum and ask the helpers there why you can't access the Windows Update site. I think there are numerous reasons why it doesn't work. Sometimes just adding it to the Trusted Zone will work. Ask them there.

I don't see the IE entry in your startup. OK, let's double check. Give me a new HijackThis log. Make sure Word Wrap is disabled in Notepad this time. :tazz:

I don't see why Internet Explorer should open. It's not showing that in the log. Does it go to a certain site when it opens up? What site or is it your homepage only?

Before, I think it opened to some spam fake google site. So I used the instructions what we should do before we post a hijackthis log. Does it have to do with one of the settings I did in the Adware? Originally I put Google in the default site when you configure the Adware. I recently took it out, and it's just the blank website. I'll try to reconfigure everything back to see if it goes back to normal.

Try putting it back in like you said. See if it still causes the problem.

Hi Greykniight,

I still don't know why my IE opens up everytime I boot up. I will keep on looking into this but everything else runs fine. I think you should go ahead and close up this topic. Thanks for all your help.
