how do i change wireless frequency of my internet router. My laptop downstairs once had excellent connection, but recently i have switched to verizon vios and since that my internet connection wirelessly has been poor. After asking around, i was told to change my router's frequecy so that the wireless would not be affected by cell phones or portable house phones. if anyone knows how to change the frequency please let me know, also if you know what i should use a frequency, that would be a great help. Thank you in advance for all those that will help me.

Need to list your Internet make/model so someone can help you with specific info. On most routers, if you use the set up access to it, you can change the channel and then check if problem still exists. Do you still have the manual for the router? If not, it is probably available online.

Try going to your internet browser and type in the router's IP address. If you haven't changed it, then it is most likely either 192.168.1.1 or (192.168.2.1). Then search around for for where you can change wireless channels. Different manufacturers put it in different places.

Maybe this will help:

Only the make/model is needed. Might want to delete the user name/password info unless you plan to change it soon. This is an online manual link. This is suppose to be a PDF of manual.

No one channel is the best channel. The "best" channel is the one that solves your interference problem(s).
