Problems connecting to the iTunes store

Morning all,

I have just updated iTunes to version 7.6 (only because I couldn't buy anything off the store without the update or so iTunes said). So did all that and went back into iTunes and low and behold I couldn't connect to the iTunes store despite having 0 problems before (this is why I hate updating things).
So can anyone help me, why was I able to access all parts of the iTunes store with no problems but as soon as I updated to version 7.6 I can no longer access the store? My LAN settings etc etc haven't changed at all.
Anyone help?
