Firefox, many problems... :(

I can't understand why my beloved firefox is messing up. I've tried resetting all settings and reinstalling, but it keeps messing up...

first off, I can't download images. I've deleted downloads.rdf and everything... it won't let me download them...
second, on ocassion, the view extends beyond my screen, and it doesn't get fixed until I reset the browser...
should I just wait for FF3, or can you guys help me?
