Hi. First off, my computer doesn't have a problem, it is my mom's that does. She always calls me when she has trouble with her 'puter, and I can usually help. But, this time I have no idea. Basically, the mouse doesn't work. The cursor just sits in the middle of the screen, and doesn't respond to the movement of the mouse. I thought that perhaps the mouse has died, so she tried a new one, but it didn't work either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx!

Would be helpful to know how the mouse connects to the PC -- USB or PS2?

Well, it was connected to USB before. I actually got the mouse to work through using a ps2 adapter. Now I know what the problem was: that the USB ports are shot. I tried plugging in a memory stick to the USB and it didn't read.
