My computer went "down" last week. All it will do is show a blue screen with:
C0000218 registery file failure
registery can not load hive
systemroot/system32/config
coftware corrupt absent or not writable

beginning dump physical memory
completed

I have rebooted, left computer off for a few days, tried to reboot in safe mode with and with out networking, tried last known (can't remember wording)time it worked. I have inserted the recovery disk and NOTHING is working. It keeps bringing back the same blue screen.

I am on my laptop now but this is my main home computer that it is happening too. That computer is usually always on just not used often at all but need to recover it!

any help would be appreciated
Thank you,
Molly

Does last known good work?

Otherwise you need to do a repair/fresh install of XP. Not much you can do here.

NO it doesn't work. I even tried my recovery cd and it wouldn't work. Just kept bouncing back to that same blue screen
