hello guys, I was wondering if you could possibly help me with my limited or no conn. problem, i've been tryin to figure it out for weeks and it just isnt working. Firstly I've tried that winsock thing and i know its not a winsock problem. I tried unpluggin router and modem and all and still the same thing no conn. here is whats my ipconfig all says.

Also, I've tried plugging directly into the modem and still the same thing, and ive tried ipconfigrelase / renew and same thing also i put in the wireless card and still the same thing!

PLEASE, help me out! anyone!

Try taking the router out of the equation. Unplug the modem's power and then plug an ethernet cable directly from the modem to your computer and then plug the power for the modem back in. Wait about 30 seconds for it to initialize, and then go to START-->RUN and type ipconfig /release, Enter, and then type ipconfig /renew followed by Enter. Then type ipconfig and see if you get real information for the IP, Subnet and Default Gateway. DO NOT post the IP address on here, is that what is shown will be your actual IP (not like the 192.168.x.x you got before when the router was in the equation) and you don't want that information floating around the Internet. :)

Wow, this does not make any sense at all but I plugged it into the cable modem and amazingly it actually connected and started sending and recieving packets, Its not sending/recieving alot but atleast its actually recieving them this time b/c before it would jsut send and never recieve.. i dont understand this thought b/c ive tried pluggin in the modem like 50 times before and it always said limtied or no conn. well this is what it is saying now.. i hope its ok to post that IP address? hopefuly no one hacks me lol.

I would still edit out the last two numbers from the IP address above so that it reads 207.255.x.x.

Can the computer access the Internet now?

Ok, edited the numbers thank you and yes i can access the internet now amazingly.. but it is slow for some reason I do believe my problem was solved tyvm for the help
