I just had a friend build a new gaming computer for me, powered up fine no issues until I ran Call Of Duty 4 single player and Its froze up on me. The first lock up said somthing about a direct x error. The second time no error just froze, I could shoot my weapon and could hear noise In the background but could not move. HEAT you might say, My Antec 900 case has 5 fans, 8 including cpu power supply so on. Any ideas? My Specs--- Evga geforce 780i mobo, Geforce 9800GTX Vid card, 2gb ram soon to be 4, Intel duelcore E 8400 3.0ghz processor, corsair 620watt power Supply, Windows XP Home sp-2. Don't tell me I have a $1500.00 gaming computer that can't handle Call Of Duty 4 When my old computer < pentium 4, ATI 1900 Vid card, 4gb ram, 300watt power supply with 2 fans can!!! Im freaking OUT!!! Thanks.

More likely a driver issue. Try updating the drivers for your graphics card from the NVidia website.
