Hello ☼ Klutz ☼

Welcome to G2Go. :)
=====================
Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.

Double click SDFix.exe and choose Install to extract it to its own folder on the Desktop. Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
  • Choose your usual account.
  • Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
  • Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
  • It will remove any Trojan Services or Registry Entries found then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
  • Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
  • When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
  • Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt.
  • Finally copy and paste the contents of the results file Report.txt back onto the forum with a new HijackThis log

thank you for replying and helping me. I really appreciate any help you can give me. The first thing i tried to do after i found out i had a virus was boot to safe mode....it wont let me boot to safe mode. I have 4 internal hdd hooked up and when i press f8 it asks me to choose which one to boot to (on a blue screen) and thats it. I choose the only one that has windows xp on it and it boots, but there is no longer an option for safe mode. I've never seen this blue screen before. should I try disconnecting the other hdd and run the computer with only the hdd with the operating system on it. I remember when i partitioned the hdd and put windows on it i wasn't allowed to have the other hdd hooked up until windows was on a hdd. also i have run a couple of different things like spyhunter 3 and spy doctor. they didn't work but they did get rid of a red screen that was covering my desktop. i'll dl SDFix and try again, but first i wanted to post my new hijack this result just in case it helps: Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2

yea pressing F8 brought me to a new screen ive never seen before. its blue and says which would you like to boot from and has Hard Disk Drive or CD Drive. It had my four HDD's but this time i chose one that i knew did not have XP on it and it said boot failure and then instantly booted normally. There was no screen that said which would you like to boot from offering hdd, cd, usb, safe mode, last known good configuration etc... like i've seen in the past. i'll try running SDFix now then i'll go to sleep and msg you back when I wake up.

as you can see in the hijack this log, my regedit is disabled also: O7 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System, DisableRegedit=1

-- I assume this is the problem but i'm not sure if its the only one: O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [WinSpywareProtect (ver. 5.1)] "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adsl Software Limited\WinSpywareProtect\WinSpywareProtect.exe" /autorun

--but without getting into my registry i'm kind of stumped about how to remove it. when i press start everything is pretty much gone so i cant get to the cmd prompt either unless there is another way

Its still running and its finding things and deleting them. I have roughly 1.8tb of hdd in my computer so i'll post my hijack this after I restart again after i wake up. sleep for real this time heh. Thanks again for the help. I look forward to fixing this with your aid.

If you want me to help you then you have to quit trying to do things on your own.
What you are doing will not rid you of the problem.
Go ahead and get rid of SPyware Doctor and SPyhnter.
SPy Hunter used to be a rouge and it will not do any good.

DO NOT Proceed on your own.
Just follow the directions I am giving you if they dont work then don't gp ahead with something else just let me know and I will provide another fix.
===========================
Download ComboFix from one of the locations below, and save it to your Desktop.

Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts. Please, never rename Combofix unless instructed.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall
