Is this the site where you are looking:
http://www.microsoft...amp;mg_id=10134
If so, can you check in IE
Tools > Internet Options > on the Security Tab click on the Restricted Sites icon
then click the Sites button, see if there is any mention of microsoft.com in the list of retsricted sites?

I opened the link you gave me and was able to download Windows Defender ... the link from your green page wouldn't open! Now I'm working on getting past PCcillin with Wildfire (I think that was the name!) ... more later.

OK, Wilders Security still is blocked after adding it to the approved list on PCcillin ... shall I go on down the list, or do you have ideas to get around PCcillin?

I'd like to shoot it, considering the trouble it gave us truying to repair the infections damage and how little it did to prevent that infection.
Can you tell me exactly which suite and version you are using?
I'm guessing

Thanks.
If I'm not mistaken you can open the control panel for PCCIllin and there should be a button for Internet & Email controls.
Follow that and disable the internet controls to check if you can then visit WildersSecurity.
They have quite some visitors using Trend, so I'm not sure if that really is the problem, but I can always ask for better instructions if needed.

Pieter: Thanks so much for all your help! I've been through all your spyware prevention sites ... some have been great help! I wanted to tell you that after doing the helps in IE6 Advanced, though, I couldn't pay my bills online or access my bank account! So...I had to put the cookies back on the default setting. Any better tips for that?

Hi marion,
A bank should know better then to use third party cookies.
Can you try this:
Look at figure C here:
http://articles.tech...11-5030791.html
Then set them to First-party Cookies : Accept
Third-party Cookies prompt
Should you get any prompts during banking make notes where they come from and we can decide if we make an exception for them.
But normally accepting first-party cookies should be enough.

Thanks for clarifying the difference between first- and third-party cookies. I didn't know which ones the websites would deal with, so I reset the default internet settings. I've made the settings you suggested, and I'll see what happens. I'll let you know soon. It's a holiday here, so I don't know how soon I'll get back to you!

My holiday is coming up soon too.
Not that that will keep me from hanging out here.
See you later and enjoy.

I don't suppose there's a way to donate to PayPal on your site unless we have Euros?? I couldn't find the USA listed in the countries.
I was looking to donate through your prevention page.

There is no need for that, but it should accept donations in dollars as well.
I have both Euros and dollars in my account.
Thank you for even considering it.
