Computer periodically freezing

When I began to get secondary hard disk error, my computer started to freeze periodically around the same time. I just removed my secondary hard drive because it was only 6 gb and I never even knew about it anyway. But I really want to solve this freezing problem since I work in art and if I were working something with photoshop, I wouldn't want to lose any progress.
