still when i try to follow thru with your steps i'm at a hault... i don't use IE and when i go to tools options i do not get to the same place. i'd love to finish this up.

Only follow through with those steps if you do indeed use IE for anything. If not, then making it safer won't be of any help to you. The fact that you use Firefox instantaneously gives you more security. As one computer analyst put it:

Now I do come from the camp of folks that say that Firefox is mainly safe because it is not the tallest nail getting hit at this moment. Internet Explorer is harder hit on by those who wish to do you harm, so that is one reason why it is less safe than Firefox.

:) that's why i use firefox... started with hearing/reading rumors for sure, but that's my reasoning at least.
