my computer keeps freezing and after i restart it, it will have a windows popup telling me:

The system has recovered from a serious error.

Please right click on My Computer > Properties > Advance tab > Settings (under Startup and Recovery) > uncheck "Automatically Restart".

Now WinXP will not auto restart when it gets an error. When you get the error, copy it down and post the error here. Or you could look up the stop error here to see if you can fix this yourself.
