OK has a friend who bought a Toshiba laptop in 2003,anyway has never done any updates, it has windows home XP service pack 1 she went to update after me telling her too it won't install any updates still has windows explorer 6 on it,
says activeX wont allow updates but active x is checked in explorer 6 options as allow, also there seems to be no security settings icon in my control panel to change them any ideas wear to start with this says been registered ect.

Please be advised that installing SP-2 on a computer that is loaded and running for a long time can end up with lots of problems. My advice is not to do that. You will surely hear different opinions.

If, however, you wish to do that, use the link below and download Dial-A-Fix. Check Fix Windows Updates and click Go.
