lost my dvd and cd drives

i lost my dvd and cd drives on my compter and i dont know how to get them back
i have an ASUS CRW-4832AS and a HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM GDR8163B
i lost them once before and had to go inside the registry editor and delete something to get them back but i dont rember what it was
the device manager saids

Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41)

please help
