I have a computer that when I open the Internet explorer all is fine when I open a link the first one I click on is ok the second time I click on a link the ie freezes. I ran a virus scan that came out clean and also ran mbam and also that came out with no errors.
I disabled almost all the managed add ons but after a day it happened again and keeps on going.

When a link is opened in the same window then there is a problem. If I try and open it in a new window then it seems ok but this is not the way I want to work.

I am using explorer 6 on win xp sp2. I don't want to install ie7 because I use ftp sites sometimes and with explorer6 you don't have to leave the ie to the explorer.

Attached is a hjt file if this may help.

Thanx 4 any help.

This problem can be caused by having IE7 on the computer previously and a Windows Repair having been done which takes it back to IE6, subsequently leaving it in a hybrid state.
Just for curiosity, try sticking IE7 on the computer and see if the issue clears up.

This computer was installed about half a year ago there was never ie7 on it and I never ran windows repair.
I do not really want to install ie7 because from experience if you un install ie7 then ie6 does not run properly or some programs give errors.
