Restore Point on vista ultimate

Somehow I have wiped out my part of computer program this morning. I did however manually create a restore point 3 or 4 days ago. I need to restore everything back to that point so I dont have to go all the way back to factory specs. How do I do this? Please help.. Thank you.

Could you give me some more information please?
I would like to know if you can access your desktop and start menu?
Can you log on in safe mode?
\What can you do, not do?
Please be more specific.
