Every once in a while when I log in, I receive a balloon prompt that my Windows firewall is off. But when I check it in the Security Center, it is in fact on. I currently have AVG 8.0 free as my anti-virus. Could that be the reason why I get those firewall prompts or is it something way different?

windows does that once in awhile..telling me zone alarm is not running yet there it is running in the system tray...
you can set it the security panel that you will monitor your firewall yourself
in my opinion windows firewall is next to worthless...i recommend zone alarm free

AVG is a anti virus and spyware app..its not a firewall and has nothing to do with those windows warnings
