I have a Dell 5150 with windows XP. I have been trying to get the modem connected. Of course I have none of the software as it was lost some where, but here is my issue: The modem is connected and communicating with the computer, I have quarried the modem and is working. But when I try to connect to the Internet it does not get a dial tone and I get the dreaded digital line detect error. I have checked the line and it works fine on another computer.
