Well yes, of course. But. If those sites are listed in the Hosts file that was recommended, there is likely good reason to suspect that they may contain malware or they have other reasons to be listed.
I have an extensive Host file, however, and both sites load and play videos OK for me.
Which Hosts file are you using?
To manage my Hosts file updating and combining, I use free Hostsman:
http://www.abelhadigital.com/
This simple utility updates from 4 Hosts list providers and allows me to toggle my Hosts list on and off. It combines the lists and removes duplicates.
I do suggest that you approach visiting "blacklisted" sites with care, preferably using free:
•Sandboxie: http://www.sandboxie.com/
•Returnil: http://www.returnilvirtualsystem.com/
Or some other "virtualization" software to prevent possible malware from infecting your (newly) clean system.
My rule is that if my Hosts file thinks I shouldn't go there- I don't.

hi! actually.. i think it was just yesterday that the sites weren't working for me, because they seem to be working today.. haha. thanks for your time and sorry for all the trouble!
