AVG picked up trojan agent and 1 other - whilst it moved it to the vault there was still infection. I have followed your "you must read this" instructions. The 1st scan found 36 infections (malwarebites antimalware) When I ran superantispyware it found another dozen or so. I have tried running panda activescan 3 times but it always freezes before completion. i wouls appreciate some help from you please.

Thanks

Hi daveleys and welcome to geeksToGo! (you have been around since 2005 though :))

Please take note of the following points.
  • Please keep in mind that there may be a time difference between us, If you are not in the GMT +1 time zone, than you can expect a slight delay.
  • Please do not run any tools other than what I request of you to run. Some of the tools we will use are very powerful, and using them without the required knowledge could cause more damage and prove to be more troublesome than the problem you are currently facing.
  • If at any time you have a doubt about what you are to do, please stop there and ask. No question is considered dumb here at GeeksToGo!.

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) and save it to your Desktop.
  • Close all other windows before proceeding.
  • Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply.
Note:These logs may be too large to post in one reply, if so, please post extra.txt in a seperate reply.

Mike
thanks for taking the trouble to reply. I had a suggestion from a friend (before receiving your response) to try spyware doctor - the free version seems to have got rid of the trojan virtumonde. One interesting thing was that I reported that the active scan wouldn't complete - I did a scan with my normal virus software avg and it discovered a trojan in the active scan so I guess that's why it wouldn't complete. I do appreciate the work you do and I am always recommending geeks to go on the forum we have at work. I think for now (unless something comes back to bite me - in which case I will repost) I think we can consider it is closed. Thanks again
