I was just wondering; is it possible to alter the content of a flash object, like a video or ad that starts when you arrive at a website, to inject and infection onto a pc without the person realizing it?

I am only asking because I have been reading about viral infections online and some people say a drive by infection can be initiated by an altered flash object, and, some say it cannot.

Any input on this?
