I just reformatted my laptop, and I need the driver for my modem. I have a dell inspiron 1000 running xp. I tried dells site, and I've I tried google extensivley but I can not find the driver for the life of me. Please help.

Did you put your service tag number in the Drivers and Downloads search bar at the Dell site? That is the way to find the exact drivers for your particular machine, since not every one of that model is identical. Unless you've added a modem, in which case you slide it out and look at the make and model and go to the maker's site and get the drivers.
