I recently just reinstalled XP, got all the windows updates and went in the device manager

Posted Image

And the video controller is unknown. So I went to Nvidia and downloaded a file named 175.16_geforce_winxp_32bit_english_whql and installed the drivers for my Nvidia Geforce 7300 GT. It asks me to reboot and I press yes. So it reboots, goes to the windows xp screen, waits about 30 seconds on a black screen, and then I'm at the login screen. The screen goes to 1440 x 900 (which is maximum resolution for my widescreen, It was 1024 x 768 before) and my mouse and keyboard (which are plugged in 2 usb ports) stop working. But pressing the button that shuts down the computer still works.

Any help?

try uninstalling the drivers for your Nvidia Geforce 7300 GT...
then go to windows updates...custom option...look on the left side for any hardware drivers...get any it says you need..

System restore? I formatted the whole thing today and reinstalled xp (and I had this problem before the format but I still don't know what's wrong). I did system restore to before the 175.16_geforce_winxp_32bit_english_whql drivers were installed though.

I don't know if it's the usb drivers or the BIOS that has the problem. If this picture helps this is the bios of my graphics card.

I want to be able to use a mouse to get off the login screen and actually login.

EDIT: Sorry about the double attachment

The ps/2 mouse and keyboard works and I can login. But my usb is still disabled/corrupt. What can I do?

Edit: It takes more than 5 minutes for anything connected in the usb to work and it goes SLOW.

The USB only works if I go into safe mode. I installed the usb 2.0 drivers I had from an old disk but that still didn't work.
