I am formatting & installing Win XP SP2 ( Dell CD ).

I need help.

First is there a SP3 for Win XP Pro ? If yes any download links please.

I had MS .NET 2.0 untill now which was 22.4 MB

Now I see .NET 2.0 SP1 which is 23.6 MB

http://www.microsoft...ang=en#Overview

I also see on MS site following :

MS .NET 3.0 ( Only 2.8 MB )

http://www.microsoft...;displaylang=en

MS .NET 3.5 ( Only 2.7 MB )

http://www.microsoft...;displaylang=en

So I am totally confused as to which .NET should I install.

Also for XP SP3,

Should I just auto download just SP 3 after installing SP2 from my Dell CD OR Re Install the whole Win XP SP3 ?

If the whole Win XP SP3 where do I get that ?

Thank You in advance to all those experts.

first create a restore point...name it pre sp3..
then go to windows update and get SP3...after you install it make sure everything is working right..then update flash because sp 3 puts a older hacked version on...
then go back to windows update and get any updates it says you need...
as always you should create a restore point BEFORE getting any updates...just i case the update goes badly..

SP3 is a good recommendation. The same file patches Home and Pro and you can get it from Windows Update, it'll be the first thing it offers you after the mandatory updates.

Once you install SP3, you only get the notifications from Windows Update about dotnet framework 1.1 and 2 and dotnet framework 1.1 SP1 if dotnet 1.1 is already installed. There is no further mention of dotnet framework 3 once SP3 is installed, however it doesn't hurt anything if SP3 is installed after it. Dotnet framework 3.5 has never been offered on Windows Update in any form whatsoever. Unless you have any applications that use it, I'd leave it.
