I am using Windows XP and Outlook 2000 SR-1 - I am able to send new emails and receive emails. When I reply to or forward an email from my inbox I get the following error:

The TCP/IP connection was unexpectedly terminated by the server. (Account:'pop.mindpring.com',SMTP Server:'smtpauth.earthlink.net', Error Number: 0x800ccc0f).

I was able to do this successfully in the past and cannot think of anything that we have installed on the computer since then. The emails I am replying to are from people who are in my Outlook address book.

The Outgoing mail server requires authentication is checked in the account properties.

I greatly appreciate any advice,
Thanks,
Sheri

did you copy this error from the application, or re-type it? If you copied it, then there's a possibility that mindspring is misspelled in your settings. If you retyped it, then it's probably just a typo, and therefore not the problem.

I re-typed the error message and mispelled mindspring. Good thought though.

Try importing the account into another mail client and seeing if it works. Just to see if it really is Outlook's fault. :tazz:
