Hi -

I have absolutely no sound on my computer. I've used the device manager and my audio device is enabled and troubleshooting says everything is ok. I' ve tried restoring but it does not help. The only thing i get is an audio system event message saying:the system has detected an audio device connection event but I' ve done no connection what so ever.

Can anyone help

Cheers

Thanks for reaching out
Yes I did have sound on my computer before
I have not added any software or hardware to my computer (at least I don' t think so because it's my father's computers and he does not recall)
I did try system restore as previously stated but it did not help. The only thing I got was a message stating :the system has detected an audio device connection but no connections were made
The make and model of my computer is a Dell laptop Inspiron 1501

Cheers

This may sound dumb, but check your sound settings and make sure Wave isn't muted. Whenever I launch PCProbe, it mutes my Wave. Also, I know of an HP computer at a children's hospital clinic that kept having the same problem, but I don't know what application was causing it - likely a children's pc game of some sort.
