Cannot change background

I'm hoping you guys could help me with a little problem I have.
I just got home from a trip, and apparently somebody has been using my computer. Now it was this spyware/adware/or virus that makes my desktop background this...

Now there are no unknown icons on my toolbar, and i cant figure out any strange process running in the background. But when i try to change my dektop background, after i reboot... that image is still there

what can i do?
please help!
