Actually, I liked the flags too, not just because I get to know where people are from, but more so, I learn about the various country flags and what the colours and symbols represent. I really want to have them back.

I'm the opposite, I suppose. I don't miss them, because I rarely noticed them. When I did, it was because they stood out too much. If I have a real NEED to know where someone is from, I can look to the left and see, or in their profile.
The new skin is here to stay. The old one will not work any longer when we do the next major forum software upgrade.

Well, you can always put a small flag in your signature. Or, perhaps there is a mod that incorporates this somewhere else

Nice idea, but it seems rather strange putting it there when no one else does that. O.o

Yeah, that's a point. Well, I'm pretty sure there are mods for this. Blair has the final say on this anyway.

I thought the flags were cool, but can live without them. HOWEVER, I do miss the OS info being readily available. Kink of a pain to have to check the member's profile to get that info each time.

Yeah. My vote is that flags are or aren't necessary (Blair's decision, really) but we should still have the OS info in our miniprofiles.

Again, this is something I put there in the first place, so it seems odd arguing against it. Is the OS really necessary in the forum profile? If it's a malware log the OS is shown in the HJT log, or many of the other logs. If it's an operating system question, they are already posting in the forums for Vista, XP, etc. If it's in the hardware, application, games etc, it shouldn't be required, but you can view it by looking at their full profile. It's really not relevant in the development and discussion forums. We may also add more forums where the users OS is not relevant.

i always used the flags to determine if the user was in a suitable timezone to help....so, i am from the UK which means i can help most people plus or minus 8 hours, if i helped anyone in Australia, for example, then at best each answer/reply would be 12 hours apart and a fix would take a while.
though, from now on, i guess i can look in their profile.
