External fan worth buying?

I think people would need more details to give a good answer.

What are you going to apply the external fan to - ie. is it a case with 7 other external fans? is it a case with no fans? is it an xbox?

What types of external fans you are talking about also could make a difference on recommendations. are you looking at a 3" case fan?

Or are you looking at something like this?

I don’t have a notebook, so I am probably not the best one to answer your question. However my wife’s work laptop gets so hot it started to warp/melt the clear coating on my coffee table, so needless to say we bought a notebook cooler for it. :)

Yes they are a good idea if you have issues with heat. I had a user recently complain of crashes/BSOD's while playing various games. The problem turned out to be that the notebook was just simply overheating. I cooler system is always better and it's not going to hurt anything to have 1.

Just curious how much is that one going for?
