a mulyiple scanning session with Spybot S&D revealed Virtumonde and Virtumonde dll but did not clear from files.
My problems seemed to begin, on discovering my daughters boyfriend had been visiting porn and gambling sites without our knowledge = notified by multi pop ups and security warnings re content. I ten discovered the history button and was amazed at the filth he'd viewed.
A friends husband helped me do a system restore but could only manage to the day before he came to stay. Things worked relatively well until an MSN friend sent some photos which I accepted, but which he denied sending and as they were in zipped folders I heeded messages not to open and hopefully deleted???
Since then I have innumerable porn)which refuses to budge from screen, warnings my computer is infected by various (dubious) sites with offers to clean and am unable to update Windows.
I have done numerous Spybot search and destroy runs but without success/
I do hope you will be able to help me get my computer clean (I am the sole user now) but I must warn you I am a virual novice regarding the technical terms you use to repair others computers. I do not understand 'save to desktop' 'open clipboard' 'hijack this log' 'copy and paste' ;notepad' or 'zipped files'.
P.S. I was assisted in downloading Spybot Search and Destroy but it seems to cause me more problems as the warnings are not explained when they pop up.
I am not sure who sent these warnigs regarding risks but they are...Trojan mylob mailer, Trojan.Ztob.2, Worm.apache, Zlob.pornadvertiser, Trojan.info Stealer Bankers and Spyware.IEmonster.b and coupled with registry change warnings from Spybot, I am in despair!
Thanking you in advance
Cassie
PP.S A p up scan from AntiSpyware Master has just informed me of other infections too numerous to mention!!

Please have a read at this topic and do all the preliminary steps given.

If you are using Windows Vista, or if you are using XP and already have Service Pack 1a or later, please ignore Step Three: Windows Updates and continue with Step Four: Reboot - Test

It should handle about 70% of your malware problem.. Should the problem still exist, please post a fresh HijackThis log here as shown in the Step Five: Posting a Hijack This Log.. Thank you :)

Please do the following...

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) from HERE or HERE and save it to your Desktop.
  • Close all other windows before proceeding.
  • Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
  • Please let your firewall allow the scanning/downloading process.
  • When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply.
If you are using Vista, you need to right-click at dss.exe icon and choose Run as Administrator
