Is it possible to reset the HIDDEN administrator account, all new without a CD? I accidentally floogied it up. (I log on and it comes up "User profile cannot be loaded."

Thanks

Administrator is a key Windows account. As a general rule if its totally hozed then you can't delete and remake it. You can make other accounts and rename them as Administrator (though they'll be seen on the disk as Administrator1, for example) but the hidden account that's only accessibly under Safe Mode isn't an option to remake without doing a full blown wipe and reinstall. As I understand it anyway.

That's correct, although you could do a repair in the console mode or safe mode, but with the 'true' admin (root) it's best reinstalling the OS if it's borked.

Repair won't fix a corrupted user account. It will most likely make it worse or totally inaccessible.

Reformat is indeed the best route I'll agree there with you there Neil, but not on the lack of solutions. It's just that the solutions probably won't work in this case in a true amin account. :)
