Next, make Windows show all hidden files: http://service1.syma...x&osv=&osv_lvl=

Then, click on Start, then Run ... type services.msc into the box that opens up, and press 'OK'.

On the page that opens, scroll down to System Startup Service or SvcProc ... right click the entry, select 'Properties' and press 'Stop Service'. When it shows that it is stopped, next please set the 'Start-up Type' to 'Disabled'. Press 'OK' until you get back to Windows.

Next, open up HJT, but instead of scanning, click on the "None of the above, just start the program" button at the bottom of the choices. At the lower right, click on the 'Config" button, and then the Misc tools' button ... select 'Delete an NT Service" ... copy/paste the following into the box that opens, and press "OK":

SvcProc

Next, close all open windows and run HJT again. If you see any of these items, put a checkmark next to them and press "Fix Checked":

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.newgenlook.info/ad/ad0278/
O2 - BHO: BolgerObj Class - {302A3240-4805-4a34-97D7-1645A0B08410} - C:\WINDOWS\Bolger.dll (file missing)

good, that means the service is disabled. Run HJT and make sure NO windows or programs are running other than HJT. No internet connection, no radio program, nothing else. :tazz: Scan and then fix these two lines:

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.newgenlook.info/ad/ad0278/
O2 - BHO: BolgerObj Class - {302A3240-4805-4a34-97D7-1645A0B08410} - C:\WINDOWS\Bolger.dll (file missing)

then give me a new log again!

Download this tool: LQfix.zip
Unzip it to your Desktop.
Don't use it yet!

IMPORTANT! Reboot the computer into Safe Mode (tap F8 during bootup, use arrow keys to select Safe Mode, then hit 'enter').

Doubleclick LQfix.bat that you saved on your desktop before.
A doswindow will open and close again, that is normal.

Reboot into safe mode again.

*That should kill off that 04 that is being stubborn. As for the 02 that still hasn't completely gone...we're going to use Killbox again in Safe Mode.

Place the following lines (complete paths) in bold in the "Full Path of File to Delete" box in Killbox, and click the red button with the white X on it after each. Keep track of any files it tells you either could not be found or could not be deleted, as you'll need those later:
C:\WINDOWS\Bolger.dll

For the files that it either couldn't find or couldn't delete, in the killbox again this time, put a mark next to "Delete on Reboot". Copy and paste each file into the file name box, then click the red button with the X after each. It will ask you if you want to reboot each time you click it, answer NO until after you've pasted the last file name, at which time you should answer Yes.

Reboot normally and post a fresh HJT log.

Ok, I"m sorry that this hasn't cleaned up quickly for you. The good news is that we unwittingly discovered a new EASY fix for a problem you had in your log that up until now was difficult to remove. So many thanks to you for following steps and hanging in there with me! Users who come along with that infection later will thank you! :tazz:

Now, the last bit we need to do is kill off that R0 entry, which is caused by the Hotoffers infection. I need to see another type of log in order to locate the hidden .dll file that is causing it. We can fix that entry until we're blue in the face with HJT, and it's not going away until we find that file and Killbox it! Once we do, you're going to be clean and good to go!!

Download and unzip Silent Runners Run Slient Runners.vbs it will make a log post that in a reply

Once I see that log and get that .dll, we'll Killbox it, remove the entry in HJT, and you'll be good as new! ;)

we'll get your desktop restored as soon as we finish cleaning you up! Thanks for getting me the Silent Runners log! Now let's get you finished up!

Click here to download Pocket Killbox by Option^Explicit. Extract it from the zip file then double-click on Killbox.exe to run it. Place the following lines (complete paths) in bold in the "Full Path of File to Delete" box in Killbox, and click the red button with the white X on it after each. Keep track of any files it tells you either could not be found or could not be deleted, as you'll need those later:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\param32.dll

For the files that it either couldn't find or couldn't delete, in the killbox again this time, put a mark next to "Delete on Reboot". Copy and paste each file into the file name box, then click the red button with the X after each. It will ask you if you want to reboot each time you click it, answer NO until after you've pasted the last file name, at which time you should answer Yes.

Now, after your reboot, open HJT and do a scan only. Place a check next to each of the following entries, and click "Fix".

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.newgenlook.info/ad/ad0278/

Reboot again, and paste a fresh HJT log here in a reply!

That's a clean log! :tazz: Now, how is everything running? You should now go to Windows updates, and apply ALL critical/recommended updates, as well.

First, do this:

Copy EVERYTHING in the code box below and paste it into notepad. Change the "Save As Type" to "All Files" and save it as fix.reg on your desktop. Make sure there is NO blank line above "REGEDIT4":

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
"WallpaperStyle"=-
"Wallpaper"=-
"NoDispBackgroundPage"=-
"NoDispAppearancePage"=-

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop]
"Wallpaper"=-
"WallpaperStyle"=-

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoActiveDesktopChanges"=-
"NoActiveDesktop"=-
"NoSaveSettings"=-
"ClassicShell"=-
"NoThemesTab"=-

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ActiveDesktop]
"NoChangingWallPaper"=-

Double-click fix.reg on your desktop. When asked if you want to merge with the registry click YES

Please read these instructions carefully

*Double-click on Killbox.exe to start the program.
*In the killbox program, select the Delete on Reboot option.
*In the field labeled Full Path of File to Delete enter the file path listed below (EXACTLY as it appears, please double check to make sure! I would just copy the file path and paste it in the field):

C:\WINDOWS\system32\guninst.exe

Press the button that looks like a red circle with a white X in ite. When it asks if you would like to delete on reboot, press the YES button, when it asks if you want to reboot now, press the YES button. Click NO to any "PendingRenameOperation" prompt. If your computer does not automatically restart, please restart it manually.

After your computer reboots, go into this folder:

C:\WINDOWS\System32

Delete any icons you find in there. For example:

casino.ico
date.ico
games.ico
mobile.ico
network.ico
pharm.ico
pharm2.ico
scanner.ico
spam.ico
spyware.ico

Download, install, and run CleanUp! (so the below scan won't take as long because cleanup will clear temporary files)

Then, please run this online virus scan:
ActiveScan

Copy the results of the ActiveScan and paste them here along with a new HiJackThis log.
