Hi guys,

I am disturbed by my low 3DMark 06 score. I have seen results on PCs with the same processor as mine, but MUCH better results.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
2GB 667 DDR2 RAM
Inno3D GeForce 9600GT 512MB DDR3

3DMark scores are as follow:

SM2.0: 3381
SM3.0: 3096
CPU: 1564

This is extremely poor in comparison to other reviews and reports, where the SM scores were between 4000 and 5000. What can be done to find this bottleneck? Is there a BIOS setting that's limiting performance?

The problem with 3DMark is that its just a figure on a screen for that computer at the time. The online figures do not take into consideration other overheads on the system at the time, for example anti-virus scanners, the performance of the hard drive, whether the processor is doing other things when 3DMark is, for example. It'll also depend on the board as well as some budget boards will obviously not be as good performance wise than higher end boards and the chipsets they're using, some are definitely better than others.

All of my games have an annoying stutter, which I KNOW isn't the graphics card, as I had the same stutter with my previous 8600GT. Something is not right here. Maybe a BIOS setting, etc? Please guys, I desperately need to play The Witcher, or else I might just go mad. :)
