Sorry, just got in!
I'll do the AVZ first thing in the a.m!
Thanks for not giving up!!
And yes, it's only with that site that the pop-ups happen!?
I am running IE in protecetd mode at a Medium-High setting.

Well first the good news I can see no rootkits or anomalous drivers/files..

What I will do next is get a VM and go to the site to see if it is infected (..Although it may just be your daughters page that has beeen hacked)

For the speed (egg time again :) ) Have you right clicked the monitor icons in you task area and selected diagnose and repair, to see if windows can find any errors ?

A picture paints a thousand words :)

One further question do the pop ups occur when logging out of the site or just when moving away to another site without loogging out ?

Hi!
Ok, right, I really should have known that! :)
No problems with the connection or so says Vista!
Funny thing is, went to "Hi5" just now and did what my daughter usually does, ie. closses the window without logging off, and no pop ups came!?
I don't know about you, but I can't see us getting any joy out of this!? Unless you have any hidden cards up your sleeve!? :)
And now my desktop internet connection, shortcut icon is not working!? I have to go through "start" to connect!? :)
I don't know if this is anything, but, one of my external drives keeps making noises like its being accessed, when its not!?
Anyway, just making a desperate last attempt to figure it out, before I have to do a reformat! :)

That would suggest to me that there was a looping scripting error on that page

The rest sounds that there may be a corruption somewhere within Vista

Are your other OS's operating OK (XP) ?

Unfortunately I still do not have a good handle on Vista yet, as I have experienced no problems .. But I will do some searching :) All good training for me

Hi Essesxboy!
No problems with my Xp.
I think at the weekend I'll do a re-format! :)
Anyway, thanks so much for your help, I learnt some new tricks too! :)
I'm sure I'll be back sometime again! :)
Cheers,
Debs :)

Glad to be of assistance - as you are going for a refomat I will dispense with the end spiel. Keep safe and I hope you do not have to come here again, but in the nicest possible way :)
