ok my friends pc seems to be infected with malware and has disabled the task manager and deleting. i figure this should all fall under a quick switch in the registry back to 1 from 0. but get this when i try to get to the properties of the task manager its not there.

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableTaskMgr /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

thats what it should be according to a search on google. but i get as far as this

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

and i did this on all 3 pcs availible to me and theve all had the same and mix results.

all pcs are xp sp2

I Suggest you take your log to the malware doctors found in this forum.
Please make sure that you read this before posting anything in the malware forum.

If you're still having problems after the malware doctors declare your log clean feel free to post back here and we'll help you to the best of our knowledge! :)

Regards,
Olrik
