You can reinstall that if you want, there is no need to as you have Malware Bytes which is the best

I can't thank you enough for your assistance and your suggestions.

I was at my wits end - his computer had been infected for more than
a month and it was just getting worse by the day.

He has since installed Mozilla and promises to use only that
browser in the future.
