computer boots to error message system has recovered form a serious error, and 'C:\PROGRA~1\INSTAL~1\{4A100~1\setup.exe can not be found or loaded.

installed ccleaner and superantispayware. and a malware remover. but when i try to run scan the pc restarts.

the hd has no back up files or system restore check points.
no restore disk. it came with win xp preloaded.

Have you tried clicking F8 while the computer is booting up, and then clicking LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION?

If you cannot even get that far you will need to go to the malware forum to get help. Otherwise The only other option is to use a XP CD to do a Repair install on the system. You will need a XP CD to do this.
