I have tried downloading it but I cant find it anywhere to download, it may be a stupid question but where can I download it? All I can find it an oeverview and a version that isnt right for just one computer. Not even sure if it will fix my problem but im willing to try anything!

I have already made another thread some time ago relating to my computer not detecting most USB devices such as iPods and USBs. I had also made a thread about this on apple's website and another user had the same problem, on vista, and he solved his problem by updating the service pack, so although I am on XP im curious as to if this would work.

Don't think it would help you and may cause more problems.

Your problem with no USB detection, as the Old Geezer said, is not going to cure your problem by installing SP3. See if these links help:
Universal serial bus devices may not always be detected when you start or resume the computer in Windows 2000 or in Windows XP
A computer that is running Windows XP cannot detect a USB thumb drive, an Apple iPod, or an external hard disk drive

Thanks a lot for those link sthey are a big help, and im going to try and restore the registry or whatever, just need to back them up now.Suggest you stay away from SP3 unless you know your computer can handle the installation without crashing the system. It should be an option to download when you visit Micro$oft's Windows' Update Site. The option appears before you run a scan for updates I believe.
